Making hair accessories

I have been crazy making hair accessories to match Matilda Jane & other clothes. I learned the rolled fabric technique & can't get enough. This is my first. More to come.

We have been in Fort Wayne now since this summer & getting settled in quite nicely. We have some amazing friends here who have really helped us out. God is so good. My job ends Dec. 31st but I know God has something else in mind for me to do. I am blessed with a great support system here which really helps. Thanks for everyone's prayers and support.

New Jersey

Well I got to go to New Jersey for 2 weeks of training for my new job in Fort Wayne. I met a lot of nice people & developed some friendships. Now I am off to Fort Wayne in hopes my family will be coming soon. If we could only sell that house.

Easter 2009

February 1, 2009

Well I am back. Hopefully I can keep this up in 2009 I know I keep saying that. Well we finally found a SUV for Mike yesterday. That way he can have a more reliable vehicle to drive back and forth from Fort Wayne. The house has been on the market almost a month. We are very excited about the traffic we have had. We have had 6 showings & one open house with 3 people & next weekend another big open house. I did not get the job I applied for a couple weeks but so I am still looking.

I'm Back...I do so hope to keep this up; it's been too long.

Well my dear friend showed me how to make my blog pretty so now I plan on keeping this going with updates. We had a great Thanksgiving with both sides of our family. Now it is time to put up the Christmas decorations. Here is our Christmas Picture.

I love IKEA!!!!

Okay so I am estatic about Ikea. I went on Thursday & then took Mike with me on Sunday. The cafe reminds me of being in Europe & the food is cheap (unlike Europe). The stuff they have is sooooo coool. I didn't break the bank yet, but I am sure it is coming soon. Anyone want to go? Call me & I will go with you.

Our Easter Egg Hunt

We had a great Easter egg hunt today at my house with my friends and their kids. What fun we all had. Since it rained we were inside. Thanks again Teri, Jen & Andrea for a great time.

Our wonderful snow day.

We got a foot of snow. Wow. What fun we all had in the snow. The girls had fun for a while then got cold. Daddy got to use the snow blower hopefully for the last time this season.

Nugget Purse

Okay I got these great directions from youtube.com. If you want to see how to make these in action goto youtube.com & goto chicnscratch & look through her tutorials.

Basic instructions:

5"x1 1/2 " cardstock

Score at 1 1/2", 2 1/2" & 4 "

Take the shortest end & use the cornor rounder. Then distress edges.

Put 2 holes for handle on the score mark by the rounded corners.

Cut 6" ribbon for the handle & string through holes & tie the ends.

Use a thin strip for the middle.

Cut out a flower & put a hole through the flower, strip & purse. Finish off with a brad.

For the Hershey's nugget I took a standard label stamped it & wrapped it around the nugget.

My first attempt to have a blog.

Today I decided I would try the world of blogging. I have been to many blogs, but never really tried to have one of my own. I hope to add pictures of the projects I have been working on. Today we had over a foot of snow. I hope it is the last for the season. It was pretty to watch coming down.
